December 15, 2015
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The International Road Federation confirmed its role as a global broker of applied industry knowledge on the opening day of the 4th IRF Middle East Regional Congress.
Addressing more than 800 delegates present for the regional event, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Mogbel, chairman of the International Road Federation, noted that, in common with the region’s economies, Saudi Arabia’s mandate to deliver transportation networks of the highest standards could only be achieved through access to global expertise and know-how.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for Roads Eng. Hathloul Al-Hathlool underlined the relevance of the Congress in providing timely and tangible responses to the region’s mobility challenges.
IRF President & CEO C. Patrick Sankey noted the IRF had increased its offering of knowledge resources available to IRF members and the wider community of road and transportation professionals. This offering currently comprises industry best practice guidelines, a library of on-demand webinars as well as a quarterly scientific journal of peer-reviewed papers.
On December 16, a new resource becomes available to industry professionals worldwide with the launch of an online knowledge center available to all IRF members and anyone who has submitted a paper to an IRF Congress. The IRF’s online Knowledge Center includes the papers and presentation slides presented at IRF World Meetings and regional congresses held since 2013. The Knowledge Center allows users to find all available papers and visual aids by subject area, keyword and author.
The 4th IRF Middle East Regional Congress & Exhibition runs December 15-17, 2015. Live updates are available from the IRF’s social media channels (@IRFhq #MERC4). All IRF online knowledge resources are available from http://knowledge.IRF.global.
