IRF Committee on Alternative Financing & Procurement

Many government and road agencies around the world are facing challenges in adequately funding the construction, operations and maintenance of their infrastructure. Road agencies in particular, are increasingly considering alternative financing and procurement approaches, such as Public-Private Partnerships, to adequately fund and efficiently deliver their infrastructure. The goal of the IRF Committee on Alternative Financing and Procurement is to provide transportation infrastructure stakeholders with best practices and international expertise and assist road agencies and governments meet their infrastructure needs more efficiently.

The committee will achieve its goals through the following activities:

  • Educate public and private sectors in alternative financing and procurement
  • Promote best practices and guidelines in alternative financing and procurement of road infrastructure
  • Engage with key decision-makers to facilitate the environment to implement successful road financing and procurement programs
  • Connect key experts and practitioners together through IRF’s global network
  • Provide expert advice to public and private sector stakeholders
