The IRF Fellows Alumni Association (IFAA) was developed to help IRF Fellows continue their lifelong learning opportunities and volunteer leadership through contacts with other IRF Fellows.
The IFAA is a membership organization that connects its diverse students through communications, activities, programs, and services. It creates a network of international professionals in the transportation field worldwide. This vast network allows IRF Fellows and IRF members to connect for business opportunities, research initiatives, and knowledge exchanges.
The IFAA Chairman and the IFAA Immediate Past Chairman nominate the Regional Coordinators for each of the five regions. The Regional Coordinators are in turn assisted by Sector Coordinators and in some countries, by Country Coordinators, as well.
Regional IFAA Coordinators are responsible for:
- Locating all Fellows in their region to ensure contact information is current
- Recommending future Fellow candidates from region
- Submitting Fellows’ success stories to publicize accomplishments of Fellows
- Submitting regional summaries from time to time
- Participating in the evaluation process of the applications for the Dr. Mino Award of Excellence
- Encouraging development of country Fellow associations
- Assisting Fellowship solicitation process for regional Fellowship candidates
- Helping nominated Fellows from their region to ensure a smooth Fellowship transition
