Established in 2012 in response to the growing demand for a dedicated event catering to transportation professionals across 30 countries and territories in the Caribbean region, the International Road Federation’s (IRF Global) flagship event has evolved into a pivotal gathering for the region’s foremost transportation decision-makers and professionals. The Technical and Scientific Committee of the 12th IRF Caribbean Regional Congress is pleased to invite surface transportation experts worldwide to submit abstracts for presentation at the 11th IRF Caribbean Regional Congress. Road & Transport Professionals from Small Island Developing States are encouraged to submit their abstracts for consideration.

The abstract should be written in English, readily understandable to most readers, and may contain a maximum of 250 words. There is no cost to submit an abstract.

  • Road Safety: Towards Vision Zero in the Caribbean: Charting a course for Vision Zero and safer roads in the Caribbean.
  • Sustainable Transport Infrastructure for Small Island Developing States (SIDS): Building resilient and efficient transportation networks for island nations.
  • Roads as Lifelines: Disaster Recovery & Response Strategies: Examining the vital role of roads in disaster recovery and emergency response.
  • Efficient Road Asset Management: Maximizing the lifespan and performance of road assets.
  • Greening the Roads: Decarbonization of Transport by 2050: Paving the way for carbon-neutral road transportation by mid-century.
  • Revolutionizing Caribbean Public Transport: Reimagining public transit systems for a more connected and sustainable future.
  • Inclusivity in Transport: Bridging Gaps and Serving All: Ensuring equitable and accessible transportation options for everyone in the Caribbean.

Accepted Abstracts will be offered the chance to present their presentation on a podium and/or poster session. Furthermore, the top abstracts will be allowed to submit a full paper in a special IRF Publication to be published in Early 2025

  • Abstract Acceptance Notification: April 19 , 2023
  • Paper Submission Deadline: June 28, 2024 (Accepted Papers that meet the criteria will be published in a SCOPUS-indexed IRF Publication)
  • Paper Acceptance Deadline: September 4, 2024
