Tracks & Call for Papers

The Technical and Scientific Committee of the 5th IRF Middle East Regional Congress is pleased to invite surface transportation experts and researchers from the region and beyond to submit paper abstracts for evaluation. Abstracts should reflect original practical cases studies and research or innovation in technical, institutional, economic, business and policy issues that are relevant, recent and significant.
The abstract should be written in English, readily understandable to most readers and may contain a maximum of 250 words. There is no cost to submit an abstract.

PLENARY SESSIONS

Plenary sessions will set the stage for, and are at the core of, activities for the 5th IRF MERC. A highlight of the Congress, the “Innovation and Transformation of Urban Transport” roundtable will bring together individuals who are on the cutting edge of research that will could dramatically transform road transport and how it is viewed.

EXECUTIVE SESSIONS

Executive sessions take the form of policy round tables addressing key aspects of mobility and infrastructure development across the region and the underlying challenges.

INVESTOR SESSIONS

These sessions are developed by major organizations from the host country. The main focus of the sessions are major projects, both ongoing and in the pipeline, from the point of view of showcasing engineering achievements and emerging business opportunities.

SAFER ROADS BY DESIGN SESSIONS

Safer Roads by Design™ Sessions are developed and adapted from IRF’s own extensive catalog of road safety training courses and workshops. These sessions will introduce engineering concepts, best practices and state-of-the-art technologies tailored to the needs of municipalities and road operators that can be used to prevent road crashes, and reduce the severity of accidents.

SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL SESSIONS

The technical & scientific portion of the program is developed through the peer evaluation of abstracts and papers by a committee of recognized surface transportation experts and researchers. The best papers will be published in IRF’s technical quarterly journal, the IRF Examiner.
