LIDAR & AI for Road Asset Management

Jun 30, 2025 - Jul 3, 2025

| $2500 – $3000

Overview

This interactive IRF LIDAR and AI for Road Asset Management training program equips participants with the core knowledge on LIDAR application in highway asset management, and the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) principles in automated road condition assessment in conjunction with LIDARs. LIDAR and AI incorporation as a hybrid strategy in road asset management support improved road maintenance strategies and deliver better roads through more consistent and cost-effective data collection and analysis. Case studies on LIDAR and AI applications are introduced, and the benefits, advantages, and limitations of AI application is presented. Different AI available platforms/applications are introduced for possible use by the course attendees in future applications.

Learning Objectives

  • Principles of asset management and life cycle cost analysis of road construction projects are presented
  • Participants will learn about LIDAR principles, advantages, and limitations
  • Participants will learn principles of AI and possible applications in asset management
  • Participants will learn about hybrid application of LIDARS and AI in different road asset management projects

Target Audience

  • National /State Road & Transport Engineers
  • Highway Engineers and Managers
  • Private Consultants & Contractors
  • QC/QA Personnel
