Overview
Attendees are taught the importance of speed management as it relates to road safety. They are exposed to multiple countermeasures regarding police operations including traffic science, offence monitoring (Quality Control) and activities designed to maximize the subjective chance of apprehension. A variety of speed reduction engineering concepts that are designed to make roads safer for motorists as well as pedestrians are discussed in detail.
Automated speed enforcement programs are introduced and attendees learn that these work provided key principles are applied. This course will introduce comprehensive methodologies to allow Qatar to effectively and economically utilize state of the art safety cameras to enforce speed and red light laws, while addressing concerns regarding the use of these devices as revenue generators and not for road safety improvements.

The Center encourages and promotes continued development in road safety management, as part of the center strategy to develop comprehensive road safety education and training programs in Qatar and the region.
Together with the IRF team, the Center is working in developing the body of knowledge and the set of skills and competencies that are required by road safety professionals in Qatar. This specific program that we have designed with the IRF is truly unique in the region.
