Key Performance Indicators in Highway Operations

Oct 19 - Oct 23

| Istanbul, Turkiye

Overview

Background

Road agencies collect more operational data than ever, yet decision-makers often face inconsistent definitions, unclear ownership, competing dashboards, and measures that do not connect to policy outcomes. Effective KPIs create a shared language for service delivery, expose performance gaps, and guide investment, staffing, operator oversight, and continuous improvement.

This course helps participants build a practical highway-operations performance framework. It moves from strategic outcomes to a disciplined measure hierarchy, clear formulas and data sources, baselines and targets, executive scorecards, governance routines, and performance-based decision-making. Case exercises emphasize measures that are credible, actionable, and useful at network, corridor, and operator levels.

Course Highlights

  • Four classroom days combining KPI design, data-quality methods, dashboard practice, and case work.
  • A reusable KPI dictionary and executive scorecard framework.
  • A full Friday technical field experience with a road agency and a road operator.
  • IRF Certificate of Completion.

Five-Day Format: Monday–Thursday classroom program, followed by a Friday full-day technical field experience.
