Background

The structural and functional integrity of pavements are critical and important to a healthy infrastructure. This integrity is also a vital part of pavements’ life-cycle sustainability assessment and the return on investment society places on constructing high quality roads and highway networks. Therefore, transportation professionals have to ensure that the design, construction and maintenance of pavements meet industry’s best practices as well as established standards.
