One of the world-acclaimed IRF Safer Roads By Design™ Executive Seminars will be held from March 13-17, 2016 in Dubai, UAE. This Safer Roads by Design™ “An Introduction to Engineering Fundamentals for Road Safety Auditing” Training Program is one of the most comprehensive road safety training programs available in the world. Top international road safety specialists from a variety of countries will present best practices and state of the art technologies in Roadside Safety, Work Zone Safety, Vulnerable User Safety and Road Safety Audits over a 5-day period.

This course will clearly define the concept of the different Phases or Stages of the Road Safety Audit Process. The first three days will be used to introduce delegates to some of the more typical safety countermeasures used for roadside safety, work zone safety and vulnerable road user safety, while days four and five are dedicated to the 8 Steps of a Road Safety Audit. Delegates will use a team approach to actually conduct a Road Safety Audit (Stage 4 Road Safety Inspection.) As a part of this hands-on practical learning experience, delegates will be able to utilize some of the countermeasures they learned about during the first three days. Delegates are also taught how to prepare and present a Road Safety Audit Summary Proposal for a project owner.

This training is ideal for individuals who ultimately want to become Road Safety Audit Team Leaders. It will give them a clear understanding of the Road Safety Audit process, which will be helpful on future audits. The course also is designed to give basic road safety information to anyone in a position to try to improve road safety in their area of concern. The ultimate purpose of this seminar is to make all roads safer for All Road Users and to help road authorities, consultants, banks, contractors and private industry understand what can be done to help to meet the Decade of Action challenge to reduce fatalities 50% by 2020.
