Cooperative ITS: Getting Ready to Deploy the Next Generation
This webinar is about how cooperative ITS is creating new opportunities to transport professionals to tackle mobility issues such as road safety, traffic congestion and energy efficiency. Thanks to wireless communication technologies, data exchange between components and actors of the road transport system, very often between vehicles (vehicle-to-vehicle or V2V) or between vehicles and infrastructure (vehicle-to-infrastructure or V2I), generate new sources of valuable and reliable information that can feed new generation of ITS services. Webinar participants will get insights about the maturity of cooperative ITS based on lessons learnt from testing and deployment initiatives carried out during the last 10 years. The objective is to not miss opportunities that could help to address road transport challenges and to gain knowledge on how to consider cooperative ITS in road authorities' deployment strategy.

Vincent BLERVAQUE, Senior ITS Specialist
Vincent has an extensive 20 years’ experience in ITS. He worked at ERTICO ITS Europe from 2001 to 2014 as Director of Development and Deployment where he was responsible for European research and innovation projects and ITS deployment initiatives. He was the Chairman of the European Program Committee for ITS Congresses worldwide. From 2014 to 2018 he worked as independent consultant based in Brussels. He was member of the C-ITS Platform led by the European Commission and the coordinator of the C-The Difference large scale C-ITS urban pilot. His expertise include also international cooperation on connected and automated driving, especially with US and Japan. From April 2018 to September 2019 he was Director of Autonomous Train Program at national railway research institute Railenium in France.
He is currently running consultancy activities in ITS including research, innovation, piloting and deployment activities, business and strategy development, international cooperation, training and organisation of events.
