Improving Road Asset Management for Local Roads
Applying consistent Best Practices in Road Asset Management is critical in government organisations drive to achieve improve levels of ‘coordinated activity of an organization to realize value from assets’. In 2015/16, the British Government’s Department for Transport (DfT) implemented a 5-Year framework that facilitated consistent levels of improvement in Asset Management practices across England’s 153 Local Highway Authorities through a Self-Assessment Incentive Funding Scheme.
This webinar provides an overview of the process implemented by the DfT, some results of progress that has helped transform this sector, including some examples of the work undertaken by individual Local Authorities, and discusses in detail some lessons learnt and how the underlying road asset management standards and guidance have helped play a role in improving outcomes for UK’s local road networks.
