Webinar: Road Scanning Innovation: Now & Future
Road scanning tools have significantly improved in the last 20 years with the introduction of advanced technologies like Lasers, Lidars, Accelerometers, and Stereo-Vision. These instruments allowed to speed-up the measuring campaigns and to move from qualitative to quantitative evaluation. Nevertheless, the cost of road mapping is still high, limiting the updates to larger organizations and making these technologies inaccessible to small companies and municipalities. The latest development in the field of autonomous driving (AD) could bring a significant revolution in connection with the developments of vehicle to infrastructure communication (V2I). This webinar will introduce these concepts showing state-of-the-art sensors for AD and how this revolution is already making advanced mapping tools accessible to everyone.
Kris De Meester, Xenomatix
Graduated as electro-mechanical engineer at the university of Leuven, Kris started working in the automotive sector in 1993. He started as a Technical Consultancy Engineer in high-tech projects on NVH. Throughout his career, he acquired experience in Engineering Management and Technical Sales, promoted to Business Unit Manager and Managing Director within different industrial companies, and acquired worldwide experience in Europe, USA and Asia. Strongly convinced of the innovative power of the XenomatiX technology and the inevitable breakthrough of it, he joined this fast-growing high-tech company at the Research Park in Leuven, Belgium, as VP Sales & Business Development in 2016.
Jacopo earned a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and a professional certification in Mountain Guiding. Both qualifications reflect his passion for exploration, techniques and in general for breaking the limits of human boundaries. He dedicated the past years to the introduction of LEDs technology working for Tier I’s such as Automotive Lighting and North American Lighting while, in parallel, guiding people on the mountains around the world. This path brought him to Michigan where he is currently living with my family. Jacopo is enthusiastic about the step forward in reliability that XenomatiX’ True Solid-State Lidar is bringing to the Lidar world. Detection reliability is the key factor for mass production especially in automotive, transportation, and autonomous vehicles. The added value of XenomatiX technology is the extraordinary simplicity of the concept adopted.
