This course will introduce comprehensive methodologies to allow Qatar to effectively and economically utilize state of the art safety cameras to enforce speed and red light laws, while addressing concerns regarding the use of these devices as revenue generators and not for road safety improvements.
Attendees will learn how to design a safe work zone and they will learn about the newest technologies for work zone safety. The use of positive protection from crash worthy barriers, truck mounted attenuators, dynamic, variable message signs, average speed camera enforcement and flagger training will be among the topics discussed.
The main goal of this training is to present the principles and techniques of post-crash investigation and to explain in depth how on-scene investigation and reporting is performed as a guideline for real-life on scene investigations.
Workshop attendees will receive the necessary theoretical background and applied practices, with specific application to the roads and highways of Qatar roads, to ensure their risk identification programs are effective and impactful.
This course discusses the reasons pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, public transportation vehicles and non-motorized vehicles are involved in impacts that result in fatalities and serious injuries. The corrective actions, including education, enforcement and engineering actions that can be taken to reduce these impacts are also presented in detail.
