IREF Future Fund Contributions Top $300,000 in First 100 Days of Campaign
In March 1991, the International Road Educational Foundation (IREF), though the leadership of Dana Low, John Gehrett and Marion Dietrich, among others, established the Future Fund, an endowment-style funding mechanism to support scholarships awards for IRF Fellows. Over the past 20 years, the IREF has built up an endowment of USD $2 million, but in order to continue its current level of annual scholarship awards, the IREF Board of Directors launched afundraising campaign to raise USD $1 million by December 31, 2012. Since the 20th Anniversary of the Future Fund Campaign kicked-off in June 2011, USD $342,700 has been raised through contributions made by IRF member organizations, IRF and IREF Boardmembers, IRF Fellow alumni, and individuals. The Foundation’s short-term goal is to raise USD $400,000 by the end of 2011. A contribution from you and/or your organization will make a difference… and no amount is too small or too large. If you or your organization would like to make a donation, which in many cases is tax deductible, please contact IRF’s Kathy Mejasich at or by telephone at +1 703 535 1001. Additionally, for the first time, federal employees can support the International Road Educational Foundation (IREF) through the 2011 Combined Federal Campaign by designating IREF (CFC Number – 42369) as a recipient of their CFC contribution.
