IRF Announces Winners of 2021 Global Road Achievement Awards
DUBAI, UAE, November 8, 2021 - The International Road Federation (IRF) has announced the winners of the 2021 IRF Global Road Achievement Awards, a global competition to recognize outstanding achievement by road professionals.
Instituted in 2000, the Awards have distinguished more than 200 programs, projects and technologies from around the world.
This year, the IRF honors 11 projects from around the world, each leading the way in innovation across major road & highway disciplines. The selection was made by an international panel of senior road development specialists.
“Today, the Awards are recognized as a prestigious industry accolade in their own right” said IRF Chairman H.E. Eng. Abdullah Al-Mogbel. “But they also serve to remind a much wider audience that the mobility everyone takes for granted would not be possible without the talent and commitment of our industry”.
The winning projects this year range from the world’s longest mid-span suspension bridge recently completed in Turkey, to an original urban cooling pavement program launched by the city of Los Angeles, to a 6D road scanning technology reliant on LIDAR. Oleg V Pekerman, CEO & CIO, Fortis Consulting Services Corp. who accepted the award in the "Asset Preservation & Maintenance Management" category, stated: "If you want to know which companies are going to change the world in the near future, I strongly recommend reviewing the list of IRF members and GRAA winners.”
