IRF Delivers Pavement & Materials Training
The IRF held a training course on Asphalt Pavements: Materials, Construction, & Management from March 15-17, 2015 in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The course was attended by 130 delegates representing the entire road industry spectrum, including academia, contractors, consultants, and public sector officials.
The course focused on state-of-the-art practices around the world and their applicability to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The onus was put on solving real world practical issues that Saudi professionals face. Throughout the interactive course, delegates and instructors exchanged on issues and solutions ranging from materials and additives to testing criteria and methods.
Upon conclusion of the course, the instructors took a tour of the Ministry of Transport’s Materials Testing lab, a highly sophisticated facility with equipment rarely available in most advanced countries. The instructors were also given an overview of the Ministry of Transport’s plan for a new National Research Center dedicated to improving transport in Saudi Arabia.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
