The International Road Federation (IRF) recognized the winners of the 2010 Global Road Achievement Awards (GRAA) Competition at the 10th Annual IRF Awards Luncheon on January 25, 2011 in Washington, DC. Eleven projects from 6 different countries around the world were each honored for leading the way in excellence in a respective category of the road industry.
The IRF GRAA program is a worldwide competition to identify and honor excellence, innovation, and exceptional achievement in 12 vital road and transport sector categories. The program elicits information on successful projects from leading industry organizations, draws attention to the winning projects, and provides examples of best practices and latest technologies.
“Since 2000, IRF has used the Annual Awards Luncheon to recognize companies, organizations, industry professionals and students for their tremendous work and leadership in the road industry”, said Brian Harris, chairman of the International Road Federation-Washington (IRF-Washington). “As nations around the world face similar issues and problems in establishing, maintaining, and improving safe road networks, it becomes immensely important for industry professionals to share and learn from the best practices of others”.
