Overview
The International Road Federation Man of the Year Award is one the most prestigious individual honors in the global road industry. The Award, which was established in 1951 and is open to both IRF members and non-members, recognizes eminent public, private and educational sector professionals who have demonstrated passion, leadership and commitment to the sector.

Since October 26, 2017, Cora Van Nieuwenhuizen has been serving as Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management for the Netherlands.
Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen is being recognized for her vision & leadership in achieving one of the best-run and safest road networks worldwide, characterized by efforts to promote innovation, consensus-building, and the embracing of strategic initiatives. These include introducing mobility pricing for commercial vehicles and anticipating the arrival of autonomous vehicles, where the Netherlands has consistently been ranked among the best prepared countries.
